Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy or counseling, can help you to process problems in your life and lean more adaptive ways to deal with them. The goal is often to decrease distressing symptoms and improve functioning. Many people benefit from psychotherapy, including those with a diagnosed mental health condition as well as individuals going through a difficult period and/or experiencing increased stress. Typically, most individuals see their therapist once a week for a 45-60 minute session. During your first appointment, you and your therapist will decide what to focus on in therapy and develop treatment goals. Many individuals benefit from short-term solution focused therapy, though some may be more appropriate for long-term treatment.
